Paris - Part 1

16:00:00

You may have read my first post about my year so far, and that I booked a trip to Paris for Charlottes 21st birthday. I said I would do a post about it but recently with work and other stuff I've not had a chance to sit down and write about it, there's quite a lot to get through so I'll go through the first 2 days and do another post on Disney (!!!) and one for our last 2 days.

Day 1

After arriving at our hotel we decided to unpack and chill out for a couple of hours to recharge our batteries. After a coffee and freshening up, we decided to take a walk up to the Sacre Couer. The view of the city from here is INCREDIBLE. We on the steps outside the Sacre Couer for a bit (this did become a regular spot for us over the next few days!). We sat and admired the street artists and walked around the area for a while before working up an appetite and finding somewhere for dinner! There was a lovely area called Place Du Tertre which had plenty of restaurants to choose from. After a few drinks and some food, we wondered around some more before having a final drink in a small pub before calling it a night so we were bright eyed and bushy tailed for the next day!

Day 2

To charge our batteries for the day ahead we headed back up to Sacre Couer to get some pastries and coffee and look out over the city we would be exploring that day! In order to see as much of this amazing city as we could, we decided to do the Paris Big Bus Tour, which I would highly recommend if you're only there for a few days. Covering all the main sites in the city, it's great to use the audio commentary and find out more about the history and importance of the different areas and monuments.  After getting off at the Louvre and walking around the park, we hopped back on the bus to see some more of the city. Ticking off, the Arc de Triomphe, the grounds surrounding the Eiffel Tower (we didn't go up, we saved this for another day!) the Champs-Élysées. We grabbed a quick drink here before heading back to the hotel to freshen up for the night ahead!

With our bus tour tickets, we also opted to go for a night cruise on the Seine which allowed us to see the Eiffel Tower in a whole new light. By the time we were finished with the cruise it was quite late so we decided to find a cute restaurant nearby and finish up for the night!
